Why these: each one ranks by strength and was updated in launch week (from October 28, 2026). Each counts once, the majority decides, and a split goes to the lower tier. Closed-beta snapshots, pre-launch estimates and reroll-priority lists are not used. Last checked Oct 30, 2026.
Every change to this tier is logged in the changelog.

Other Assault Adventurers
The kit, in short
Midori's Long Sword is hidden inside a shamisen. The kit is built on slipping past attacks with graceful movement, and some skills fill the Spirit Gauge faster than usual.
Summarised from the official description.
The Assault class
Assault is the damage class. On hunts, Assault Adventurers fight alongside a Palico Buddy that adds bursts of damage.
Every Adventurer also feeds the squad's shared energy for the Co-Op Skill, which only lands when the whole squad hits the same monster part within a short window.
Teams with Midori
- Fire burst (strongest at launch) with Fated Adventurer (Fire), Raya and RyunosukeMidori deals the damage, Raya sets traps and suppresses, Ryunosuke heals, buffs and grants status immunity.
Midori's skills explained
- Exclusive Trait Grand Entrance
- Each time a Spirit Gauge level is spent: +5% damage for 5s, stacks to 3.
- Skill 1 Spirit Slash
- Up to three gauge-spending slashes; the closing spin/roundslash raises Spirit Gauge level by 1 on hit. Spirit Step Slash: after the basic string, a stepping slash into the third Spirit Slash hit (+1 level). Some listings also add Charged Spirit Blade: hold to keep swinging, each cast +60% gauge, ends in a spin slash that gives +1 level on hit.
- Skill 2 Blade of Truth
- Spends a large chunk of gauge for a double spin slash; on hit deals Rupture damage and +1 gauge level.
- Skill 3 (Burst) Moment of Insight I / II / III
- Three-part burst, each part costs 1 gauge level. Part I can parry while re-raising the blade from sheathe; a successful parry adds damage and refunds +1 level. Parts II and III get a large damage boost from a Precise Tap when the red circles overlap.
- Ultimate Curtain Call (also written 'Final Curtain')
- Series of strong slashes, then a sheathe that lands heavy Rupture damage.
- Co-op Skill Felyne Draw Technique
- Joint attack with the Buddy; Rupture damage and +1 gauge level. Hitting the co-op focus part advances the co-op phase.
- Squadmate Skill Instant Follow-Up
- When the main adventurer (or any ultimate) Suppresses the monster, she follows up with heavy Severing damage. 40s cooldown.
All 10 Insights
- Maple Season Melody: Skill 2 or Standing Spin Slash hits give a Maple Season stack: +9% skill damage for 30s, max 3 stacks. (5 stars)
- Momentary Resonance: Longer evade invincibility, Perfect Evade easier to trigger, and faster Standing Spin Slash out of a Perfect Evade. (4 stars)
- Majestic Fireworks: Ultimate gives +18% fire skill damage for 30s. (4 stars)
- Maple Season Echo: While Maple Season is up, Skill 3 deals +34% damage. (3 stars)
- Endless Tones: Two precise taps in a row during Skill 3 jump the Spirit Gauge to red; 45s cooldown. (3 stars)
- Shadow Legion: On Ultimate: +40% skill damage and +20% part break efficiency. (3 stars)
- Power Charge: +5% Ultimate charge rate. (2 stars)
- Hunting Spirit: +5% damage. (2 stars)
- Protection: -8% physical damage taken. (1 star)
- Harmony: +8% to all elemental resistances. (1 star)
How to play Midori
- Fill the Spirit Gauge with a full Chain Slash, then raise its level with Blade of Truth. It levels the gauge in one hit instead of three, and its multi-hit cutting damage is good for severing tails.
- Take every Perfect Evade you can. The follow-up combo raises the gauge level even from empty and refills it for another Blade of Truth.
- The first Moment of Insight can parry, which also skips the sheathe animation.
- Spend the Ultimate and Moment of Insight only when the gauge is red, and hit the Precise Taps as the circles overlap.
- Fight at the edge of the monster’s reach. Use the first gauge cycle to read its rhythm, then cash out on clean finishers.
Good matchups: Rathian, Pink Rathian, Rathalos.
